Privacy policy
Effective November 5, 2026
Inspicio reads your photos inside your browser. Your photos and their metadata are never uploaded, stored or seen by us.
Inspicio is a free website run by one individual in British Columbia, Canada (“we”). This policy explains what little data is involved when you use it.
Your photos
When you open a photo, your browser reads it on your own device. The photo, its metadata and its location stay on your device. Inspicio has no server that could receive them.
The site’s Content Security Policy also blocks the page from sending data anywhere, with one exception: the optional map described below. Browser extensions you install are outside our control and follow their own rules.
Optional map
If a photo has a location, you can click “Show map”. Only then does your browser ask Mapbox for a map image. That request sends the photo’s latitude and longitude to Mapbox, together with what every web request includes: your IP address, basic browser details and the address of this site. Nothing is sent to Mapbox unless you click. Mapbox collects and uses this data in accordance with its Product Terms, Data Processing Addendum and Privacy Policy.
The “Open in OpenStreetMap” link opens openstreetmap.org with the coordinates in the address. This happens only when you click it, and OpenStreetMap’s privacy policy applies there.
Hosting
Inspicio is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic browser details when it delivers the pages, and handles them under its privacy policy for security and to run its service. If a page fails to load, your browser may send Cloudflare a short error report (Network Error Logging). Cloudflare may show us basic totals, such as the number of requests. We don’t use them to identify anyone.
No cookies, analytics or ads
Inspicio uses no cookies, analytics, tracking or advertising, and no third party tracks you across websites through it. Because we don’t track you, Do Not Track signals don’t change anything here.
Your browser’s local storage keeps only which metadata sections you collapsed, so they stay collapsed next time. It never stores anything from your photos. You can clear it in your browser settings at any time.
If you email us
Emails to our address are handled by Proton Mail under its privacy policy. We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Children
Inspicio is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If a child has emailed us, let us know and we will delete the message.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete any personal information we hold about you, which in practice is only an email you sent us. You can also object to how we use it. We will answer within 30 days.
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or to the data protection authority where you live.
